ALICE CALLANDER
Alice’s love of big skies, wide open spaces and roads less-travelled has a lot to do with her slightly wild upbringing in rural Australia. In 2004 Alice swapped country life for the bright lights of London, where she first worked at Morgan Stanley. After several years of slogging away in the City, travelling at every opportunity, Alice packed her bags and headed out on a solo trip from Kampala to Cape Town. It was on this trip that she realised she could make a career from her true passion — notably while working as a safari hostess for Norman Carr Safaris in Zambia. Back in London, four years at luxury travel company Black Tomato allowed Alice to further expand her knowledge, falling in love with new destinations throughout Africa, the Middle East, and North America. Travels with Alice (formerly Sally and Alice Travel Co.) was born in 2010 on a dusty motorbike safari on Alice’s family sheep farm in Australia. Thirteen years on and now based in Wiltshire, Alice still loves the thrill of planning trips for her clients, as well as discovering new destinations on her own travels, more recently with her husband and two young boys in tow.
